German cellist Anouchka Hack (*1996), awarded the Prix Jean-Nicolas Firmenich for the most promising young cellist at the Verbier Festival 2021 and the Leyda Ungerer Music Prize in 2022, inspires the press and audience with her captivating sound and strong expressive will both as a soloist and in duo with her sister, the pianist Katharina Hack, in numerous concerts. She has appeared on stages such as the Konzerthaus Dortmund, the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin, the Beethovenhaus Bonn and the Vienna Konzerthaus.

In August 2023, she won the special prize of the German Foundation for Musical Life at the German Music Competition.

Current concert engagements include solo performances with the Göttingen Symphony Orchestra and the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, a chamber music tour with Gautier Capuçon with concerts at the Fondation Louis Vuitton Paris and Victoria Hall in Geneva, among others, and duo recitals with Katharina Hack in Germany and Italy, as well as chamber concerts in Ireland, Estonia and Belgium.

As part of the "Debut" series, Anouchka Hack has been featured in solo performances and recitals at the Nikolaisaal Potsdam for the past three seasons. In the 2021/22 season, she performed as a soloist with the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra Erfurt, the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Orchesterzentrum Dortmund, among others.
Since her solo debut at the Festival van Flandern, aged fourteen, she has performed with orchestras such as the Zagreb Soloists, Sinfonia Rotterdam and the Dortmund Philharmonic.

Concerts with Katharina Hack recently took her to the Laeiszhalle Hamburg and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, among others. Anouchka Hack was most recently heard at the Konzerthaus Dortmund in a concert of Weinberg's Preludes, and she was a guest chamber musician at the Rheingau Music Festival in 2022.

In 2020, GENUIN classics released the first album of the duo Anouchka & Katharina Hack with works by Dimitri Shostakovich, which was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award and the Opus Klassik. It includes sonatas by Shostakovich as well as an encore together with cellist Gautier Capuçon. The duo's second album, "Alle Menschen werden Schwestern," will be released next year in cooperation with Deutschlandfunk on the Berlin Classics label.

Anouchka and Katharina Hack are artistic directors of the meetMUSIC Open Air in Mettingen, which celebrated its third edition in August 2023, and have also founded the series "Klassik & Cocktails" together with the Brennerei Krämer in Dortmund, which premiered in 2022.

In addition to concert tours in Europe and the USA, the duo Anouchka & Katharina Hack has performed at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Berlin Philharmonic Lunch Concerts and the WDR Chamber Concerts. Radio recordings were made with NDR, Radio Classique (FR) and medici.tv. Together with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra and Ulrich Kern, Anouchka & Katharina Hack performed Théodore Dubois' Suite concertante for cello, piano and orchestra at the Konzerthaus Dortmund in 2021. The duo's joint free improvisation often surprises audiences at their concerts, in which the sisters engage in a musical dialogue - either completely without any prior agreements, or with a request impulse from the audience.

Anouchka Hack regularly gives master classes for young cellists in collaboration with institutions such as the Conservatoire Lausanne/ Classeek (CH), the Governor ́s school for Arts (USA), the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Musikhochschule Rostock (YARO).

She was born in 1996 in Antwerp, Belgium into a German family of musicians and grew up in Dortmund, Germany. She received her musical education with Hans-Christian Schweiker and Troels Svane, and is currently studying at the renowned Kronberg Academy with Frans Helmerson. Anouchka Hack was selected as one of six young cellists for Gautier Capucon's "Classe d ́Excellence de Violoncelle" at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris for the 2017/18 season and received further important musical impulses from Sir András Schiff, Steven Isserlis, Gidon Kremer and Kirill Gerstein, among others.

She is a scholarship holder of the Mozart-Gesellschaft Dortmund and the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and, as a prizewinner of the German Musical Instrument Fund, plays a violoncello by Bartolomeo Tassini, Venice 1769.
